Loobensky lives in Grand Goave with his parents, sister, and two brothers. His dad manages the family farm and looks after a small herd of goats. His mother has a small business selling non-perishable goods in front of their family home. Loobensky’s extended family is very well known in Grand Goave as his grandfather is a prominent Voodoo Priest in the area, as was his great grandfather, and great-great grandfather.

 

Loobensky enjoys school and plays soccer with the school team when they play against other schools. He is hard worker and is diligent in studying and helping out with the chores at home.

 

Loobensky’s father is determined to have him finish High School and obtain a post-secondary education that will give him options outside of the family farm, and all the spiritual ties that accompany it. He & his wife have done their best to keep him in school but he is faced with not being able to continue as the political unrest over the past year has affected them being able to sell their produce, and they’ve had to use most of the business goods to feed the family.

 

Helping Loobensky finish school will not only validate his father’s decision but it will also empower him to lead his family boldly, and it may very well break spiritual bonds for future generations!
