Nacheka is an outgoing girl that lives with her step sister, step brother, and mother in Grand Goave. Her mom is a hard working woman who works long hours at a local beach club. Due to travel restrictions and political unrest there are very few international visitors so the beach club is mostly visited by locals and the pay is low and sporadic. Nacheka’s dad left the family when she was 1 and she has had minimal contact with him since.
Nacheka enjoys school and her favourite subject is reading. In her free time she loves to skip rope and walk along the rocks by the ocean. She spends as much time as possible at the beach club with her mom and says she also wants to work there when she grows up. Nacheka’s mom desperately wants her to finish school and learn a trade so that she will have career options that she didn’t have. She is constantly telling Nacheka to take her time growing up and have fun with her friends.
