To the students (& parents!) of Mme Gratrix's Grade 1 class,
Mme Gratrix loved teaching you so much this year that she purchased a goat in your honour!
We are thrilled that she has allowed us to celebrate the end of the school year with you, and we are encouraged by her decision to end a tough year by choosing to share hope with others.
The goat was purchased from a man named Nasyon. It was his first sale in over 3 weeks, and he was so relieved to make the sale.
We gave the goat to Mr Natan. He is a well respected man in the community that is known for his kindness & work effort. He used to have a herd of 20+ goats but over the past year he had to sell them all to feed his family. This goat brought so much hope to him... he doesn't just see one goat, he sees his next herd!
It's a gift that will keep on giving :)
Thank you for allowing us to participate in your end-of-year celebration, and for your willingness to look for the positive in a season of life that is so full of negative.
“Good morning Mme Gratrix. Good morning grade one class. Thank you so much for buying a goat.
This goat is from a man named Nasyon. He is a goat keeper and has a herd of goats. He was so happy to sell this goat because no one is buying goats these days.
We will give this goat to Mr Natan. When this goat gets big it can be used for meat or sold to help the family. Maybe it will have baby goats and make a new herd of goats.
Thank you so much for helping a family in Haiti.”
