Our Beginning
Alongside's vision is for all families in Haiti to have access to education and to have sufficient income to be able to provide for their family's essential needs. You can read more about who we are, and what we believe, using this link:

Who We Are
We have a Board of Directors who are passionate about Haiti, excited about strengthening families, and committed to honouring God in all that we do. Below is a list of our Board Members. You can click on each one to read their BIO.
Alongside is working towards our vision by coming alongside families, and family units, in practical ways.

There are not enough jobs in Haiti for the working class and we believe offering Small Business Loans is a great way to create new jobs and stimulate the economy in Haiti. Having a personal business and being able to provide for your family is also a great way to empower and build towards financial sustainability.

You can read more about our Small Business Loan program using this link:

Program - Small Business Loans
Our passion is to come alongside families to strengthen them and empower them to build their capacity in sustaining ways. We recognize that change takes time and too often a child's education is cut short when the family has minimum resources.

Our Sponsorship Program covers a student's tuition and provides their required text books. Families are encouraged to participate in the education process by providing uniforms, supplies, and transportation (when necessary). We believe it is important for families to be part of the process and if they are not financially able, they are encouraged to participate in our Small Business Loan program.

A unique aspect of our program is that we give students the ability to pursue post secondary education. We are really passionate about this as our founders, Rebecca & Renel, have seen first hand the impact post secondary education has had on students in Haiti. It's life changing! You can read more about our Sponsorship Program using this link:

Program - Sponsorships
While small business loans & sponsorships are our focus, we also have other projects that work towards our goal of strengthening families.

You made it to the end of the email - congratulations!

Haitians speak in proverbs all the time. We love the wisdom they hold and appreciate the glimpse they give us into the Haitian culture. Here is one as your reward for reading this far!
Fòk ou bat tanbou a pou tande son l

Translation :
You have to beat the drums to hear its sound

Meaning : We have to talk to others to find out who they are.
