You can choose to be the child's only sponsor and select all of the shares, or you can choose a portion of the shares and another sponsor(s) will take the remaining shares. Smay and his younger brother live with their mom but spend most of their time at their grandma’s house, which is just down the road. Their mom sells non-perishable goods in the market almost everyday so their grandma takes them to school & looks after them in the afternoon. Smay’s father sees him occasionally but he’s not very active in his life.
Smay loves to go to school and he tries to be early everyday so he can play soccer with his friends before it starts. Sometimes he gets in trouble from his teacher because he gets his uniform dirty. His favorite subject in school is reading and he hopes his school will get a library one day.
Smay’s mom has three siblings that grew up in a children’s home, while she remained at home with her parents. She is thankful for the environment she had growing up and for the skills that she learned from her mom… she has been helping her mom buy & sell in the market for as long as she remembers. She is incredibly gratefully for the help her mother continues to give her, but she worries about being able to keep both of her sons in school.
